School Holidays Sorted helps parents find school holiday programs, activities and vacation care in regional NSW. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
School Holidays Sorted is run by School Holidays Sorted (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- You can search the site without an account or giving us any personal details.
- We only collect what we need: contact details from providers who list a program, and an email address if you sign up for updates.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't collect information about children.
What we collect
If you're a parent or carer
- Using the site: anonymous usage information such as pages viewed, filters used, device type and approximate location (region, not your address). We use this to understand which programs and areas people are looking for.
- If you sign up for updates: your email address and the region you're interested in.
- If you contact us: your name, email and whatever you include in your message.
If you're a program provider
- Your name, role, organisation, email, phone number, website and (optionally) ABN.
- Details of your program, which we publish on the site.
Information from public sources
To keep listings complete, we collect program details that providers have already published, such as on council, library, club and provider websites. This is information about programs and organisations, not about individual parents or children.
Children
The site is for parents and carers. We don't ask for, and don't knowingly collect, personal information about children. If we add features later that involve children's details (for example a holiday planner with first names and ages), they will be optional, and we'll update this policy and ask for consent first.
How we use it
- To run the site and show accurate program listings.
- To check, publish and update provider listings, and contact providers about them.
- To send updates you've asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To improve the site, using combined, anonymous usage information.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help run the site, such as website hosting, database, email and analytics services. They may only use it to provide those services to us.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Some of these services may store data outside Australia. Where that happens we choose providers with appropriate security and privacy protections.
Links to other websites
Listings link to providers' own websites, where you may book or pay. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for how they handle your information.
Cookies and analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It doesn't use advertising cookies or track you across other websites.
Advertising and featured listings
The site may show sponsored content and featured listings, which are always labelled. We don't use children's information for advertising, and we don't share your personal details with advertisers.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we delete it when we no longer need it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@schoolholidayssorted.com.au. Providers can also update or remove their listing at any time using the listing form.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
